At Tocca Massage Therapy & Yoga, we believe that you deserve a better quality of life.
A long time ago (2011), in a galaxy far, far away (Earth) I had a vision of creating the “Cheers” experience in the world of Massage Therapy. A place where you feel at home, relaxed and can just be yourself, but don’t have to run up a huge bar tab. You know what this feeling is, right?
Think of how you feel when you’re around your closest friends. You feel less anxious. You can open up. You can be yourself without having to over-analyze what “yourself” really is. And you don’t really have to DO anything to enjoy each other’s company.
You make quirky jokes, share heartbreaking stories, laugh about the shenanigans in the world, and when it’s all over, you feel like you’re floating as you go back to your life.
Since Tocca Massage & Yoga opened in 2011, we’ve worked with hundreds of people. We’ve performed over 11,000 hours of massage therapy. I’ve had people tell me how Tocca Massage & Yoga has saved their health (and, in some cases, literally saved their lives), kept them sane while going through tough times, and generally improved their lives. This is why we love what we do. WE want to help YOU have a better quality of life.

My experience as a marathon runner and a triathlete provided me with insight into being physically exhausted and sore as I continue to train to this day. After understanding the physical toll a body takes through repetitive training it came time for me to explore the merits of deep tissue therapeutic massage.
I am a professional massage therapist specializing in deep tissue massage therapy. After graduating from Eastern Michigan University and receiving in-depth training at the Detroit Medical Center for hip and knee rehabilitation I decided to branch out on my own in January of 2011.
My real passion is relieving people of those nagging aches and pains that are associated with stress or repetition from physical activity through work or play. Discovering who you are and what you need to leave Tocca Massage Therapy feeling better than when you came is why I do this.

Growing up with a mother that has had rheumatoid arthritis since she was 17 really taught me to value health and the human body. Her need to find some kind of comfort and pain relief pushed me into exploring massage therapy. Now my motto in life is to take care of myself and make others feel healthy.
It’s amazing for me to witness daily the many benefits of massage. From body maintenance to actually helping someone avoid having surgery. For many people their aches and pains are actually a matter of getting in and relieving trigger points in the muscle. Did you know that bone spurs are actually caused from the tendon or ligament attachment to the bone pulling from being tight? This force actually causes the bone to grow where the pulling is. I am trained in various kinds of massage: Myofascial, Neuromuscular, Swedish, Prenatal, Hot Stone and TMJ release. I have actually hit the milestone of practicing massage over 10 years now!

Hi, my name is Nicholas Podgorski. I completed my training at Health Enrichment Center Therapeutic Massage in 2008, where I had extensive training in Sports massage, Deep Tissue massage, Therapeutic massage, Lymphatic Drain massage, and Prenatal massage.
During my time at HEC, I received hands on internship training with the Detroit Lions, UM Swim Team, the VA Hospital in Detroit, and Genesys Hospice Care Center. Through these amazing experiences I got to do what I love and am passionate about, which is working one-on-one with my clients to meet every wellness goal, whether it be the everyday aches and pains or recovery from sports related injuries.

My journey as a massage Therapist started back in 1995 where I attended the Massage program at Lansing Community College. I am a licensed massage therapist and have worked in and out of the massage field over the last 22 years.
I believe we all need to take time out of our busy lives and nurture ourselves so that we can have better health and be more productive allowing us to better serve others. I remember reading somewhere to, “Fill your own cup first and nourish others with the overflow” and I try to live by that motto.
My specialty is Swedish Relaxation with some Deep Tissue work. I think my style reflects a need to address those problematic areas while still providing a space where you can relax your mind and let go of the stresses of life, if even for just an hour here and there.
I am in awe at how miraculous the human body is that it can repair itself if kept in balance. I feel honored that people allow me to be a part of their healing journey and I look forward to meeting and working with you. I hope I can be a small part in giving you those precious moments to rejuvenate, renew, and recharge.

I have always been physically active and knew that I never wanted to lose my independence or my mobility. My interest was Exercise Physiology, but when I took the Kinesiology class to study movement, I learned that I could help myself and other people with their pain and movement restrictions. My curriculum changed to Massage Therapy, and it is my goal to help people to be as active in their daily lives as they desire.
I received my Associates Degree in Massage Therapy from Oakland Community College in June 2008. My post-graduate studies were completed at William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak where I received national certification as an Oncology & Hospital Massage Specialist. Further studies at Beaumont Hospital were rewarded with certification as a Level II Reiki therapist where a clinical focus was shared in that modality.
I concentrate my extracurricular studies on techniques and treatment protocols for head, neck, and low back conditions. My goal is to help restore joint function in people so that they can live pain-free with optimal range of motion.
In addition, I follow research regarding massage and its place in helping people suffering from pathological conditions. It is an honor for me to provide oncology massage services to our veterans at the VA Hospital in Ann Arbor. Give me the opportunity to help you experience the many health and wellness benefits of massage therapy.
