She’s offering the $5,000 Yoga Strong Scholarship to one female athlete from Brighton High
School who plans to attend a four-year college or university in fall 2017. To apply, you must
have participated in one sport for all four years of high school and have a minimum cumulative
GPA of 3.0 in the last quarter of your senior year.
You’ll also need to write a 500-word essay on how you are financing your education and how
the Yoga Strong Scholarship will help with those expenses. A letter of recommendation from a
current teammate is required as well.
Ashley knows that the cost of tuition plays a large role in selecting a college. This sentiment was
reflected by Veronica Ripper, the 2016 scholarship recipient: “When I was accepted to MIT, I
was conflicted because I knew it would be a great fit for me, aside from the cost. I am
extremely grateful to have received the Yoga Strong Scholarship and it is helping me afford an expensive education.”
Submit your application, essay, recent academic transcript, and letter of recommendation by
April 30, 2017. If you’re selected as a finalist, you’ll be asked to come in for a personal interview.
Best of luck!
